Roosevelt Adopts

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:27

At Roosevelt Church, we are passionately committed to caring for the orphans in our world. We believe that scripture calls and mandates for the church to care for and love those children who are most vulnerable. One of the best ways to do this is through promoting and supporting foster parenting and adoption. We pray that our church would be filled with families who could provide Christian homes for children without a home.

Roosevelt Readers:  We are currently reading and discussing a book on this very topic!  Join our discussion on: “Adopted for Life” by Russell Moore.

First Steps:  Interested in finding out how to support or care for children in the foster care system?  The first step is to attend an orientation to find out more information about what it takes to become a foster parent, adoptive parent, or child advocate. Check out this calendar for upcoming trainings around the valley or email to express interest in attending an orientation hosted at Roosevelt

Child Advocacy:  Having a child placed long-term in your home is not the only way to support children in the foster care system.  If you are not ready to foster or adopt, but would still like to be involved, check out this web site for information on volunteering to be a mentor, court advocate, or provide respite (baby sitting) for foster families.

Rescources:

Finances a barrier to adoption?  We are beginning an Adoption Fund at Roosevelt.  Email for more information.  Also, check out these great resources and grants around the state and nation for adoption:
